  1. Katy here. My biggest tip would be to eat meals at home and prepare them yourself as often as possible. Eating out is expensive and so are prepared meals. Preparing your own food is a little more time consuming but tastier, healthier, and ultimately cheaper!

  2. i will add to that. when i can, i try to do major grocery shopping just once a month and cook meals in advance for several weeks. fewer trips to the grocery store means fewer impulse buys. and if you have something already prepared you are less likely to get take out or eat out.

  3. Here's how to make a brillo or SOS steel wool pad last a really, really long time...
    after you use it to scrub your pots, place it in a ziplock type baggie and pop it in the freezer. The air can't get to it and the water freezes, so no rust!
