2 Packs of Huggies Diapers and More For $2

I got an awesome deal at CVS this week. Unfortunately my receipt has found the trashcan so this is from memory.

I bought:

1 jumbo pack of Huggies Jumbo pack of Blue Jean Litte Movers $8.99 (had raincehck for $8.99 used on both packs)
1 jumbo Huggies Little Snugglers $8.99
1 CVS travel wipes .99
2 Theraflu travel .99 each

I also had a $4/$20 coupon
a $2 CVS coupon for Little Snugglers
2 $2 Huggies manuf coupons
a $4/2 any Theraflu items
1 $4 off any diapers AND wipes.

After all the coupons were applied I only paid $2 plus tax for everything. Actually it was a little under $2 before tax. I did have overage from the theraflu that was applied to the rest of my order. I love the fact that my CVS gives overage!!

Spent $4.05 Saved $43.28 At Super Doubles

Wed. morning I got up bright and early and was at my Harris Teeter at 7 am when they opened for day 1 of super doubles. The crowd wasn't as bad a usual so that was nice. I spent $4.05 including tax and saved $43.28. As always I didn't take enough coupons. I thought I was taking extra but didn't get everything I had coupons for.

I bought:

2 boxes of chex cereal sale price 2/$5, used $1/2 coupon which doubled and a zvr coupon for $1/2, paid only $1 per box

1 febreeze air effects spray $2.99, used $1/1 coupon which doubled and a $1 zvr making it free

1 febreeze set and refresh $2.99 free after manuf. coupon and zvr

2 25oz Rasin Bran had raincheck for $1.97 per box used $1/2 coupon which doubled making each box .97

6 carpet fresh carpet cleaners $1.99 on sale Buy 1 get 1 free used 3 $1/1 coupons which doubled making all 6 free

3 Wolfpuck sphagetti sauce on sale 3/$6 used 3 $1/1 coupons which doubled making them free

2 Reach dental floss $1.69 each free after $1/1 coupon doubled

1 half gallon smart balance milk on sale for $3 used $1.50/1 coupon free after doubling

So the only thing I paid for was the 4 boxes of cereal and everything else was free. I did get a nice surprise at checkout. I received a $1.50 catalina coupon off my next shopping trip for buying the sphagetti sauce. I'm going back tomorrow and hoping for stocked shelves to get some more milk and sphagetti sauce.

Spent $4.85 Saved $32.58 At Harris Teeter and Walgreens

This week has been a really good week for me couponing. I have been able to get some excellent deals while saving alot of money and adding to my stockpile.

Yesterday I went to Harris Teeter and Walgreens. Normally I don't shop alot at Walgreens. I hate their coupon policy as far as you have to have the same amount of coupons as you do items. Well this week it was worth my time.

I bought:

1 bag of huggies wipes 216 ct.
1 covergirl eye shadow
1 covergirl blush

The wipes were on sale for $4.99. I had a $2 store coupon from the Infant Care Book plus a .50 coupon from 10/23 ss. So I only ended up paying less that $2.49 for them.

The covergirl was buy 1 get 1 50% off. They were reg. $4.79 and $5.49 the 50% off took off $2.40 and then I had the $8/2 covergirl insert coupon. The overage from this coupon went on my wipes. My whole out of pocket cost at walgreens was $3.24. I saved $15.40.

Harris Teeter Trip:

3 Jolly Time Popcorn 3ct. box paid .48 for 3 boxes after using and doubling 3 .50/1 coupons. I also got 2 Ristorante Pizzas that were on sale buy 1 get 1 free at $4.99. There were $2 coupons in the 10/23 SS so I used 2 coupons and got 2 for .99. They were out of most of the kinds so I got a raincheck for the other kinds they were out of. At Harris Teeter I paid $1.61 and saved $17.18

So both trips combined I spent $4.85 and saved $32.58.

10 Laundry Detergents for $12.64 Saved $31.62

Sorry, I've been such a slacker about blogging lately.

Harris Teeter has their Xtra laundry detergent on sale buy 1 get 1 free this week. This is the 75 oz size which is 48 loads. I couldn't find my xtra coupons anywhere and it made me so mad thankfully I was able to trade with someone online for some .50 coupons. At Harris Teeter they doubled to $1 off so I only paid .99 for each bottle of xtra. I'm happy I've gotten my year's worth of laundry detergent stocked back up. We never ran out!! I believe that if you can, you should stock up when the price is cheap because if you wait til you run out there won't be a great deal or coupon when you need it. One of the 10 detergents was the Wisk that was on e-vic. With the $2 coupon I got it for $2.50. I got that for someone who only uses wisk.

We're 4 Life

Here at JJ Frugal Friends we are very pro-life. We believe every baby is a gift from God and deserves Life. Did you know:

A baby's hear begins beating just 21 days after conception.

His brain waves can be recorded at just 40 days.

Every organ he will ever have is present and functioning at 8 weeks.

These are amazing stats, and to think that some people would kill this baby and call it "tissue."

A gift of any size, no matter how small can help save a unborn baby's life.

Thanks for your support.

Freebies!! Spent .33 tax Saved $9.95

A few weeks ago when the Dawn dish liquid was on sale at CVS for .99. I had gotten a raincheck because my small town store quickly sold out. I trade coupons online with couponers across the country which helps that different areas get different coupons. My area only got the .75 dawn plus coupon. I found someone who sent me $1 dawn plus coupons. The most I could get on 1 raincheck was 5 so I took my 5 $1 coupons today with my raincheck and got 5 of the 9oz dish liquids. I got 5 of the dawn plus hand renewal and got 2 regular dawn all for free!! I only had to pay .33 tax for them all. I saved $9.95. It's hard to believe that a 9oz dish liquid would normally cost $1.99!!

My coupons expired today so I was really thankful they had enough in stock. The dawn dish liquid go back on sale this coming week so I knew my store would be wiped out again quickly.

Spent $2.22 Including Tax At CVS Saved $64.19

I came home from this shopping trip and I was on such a couponing high it even wasn't funny!! I hadn't been sure that my trip would go as I wanted but it did! I did the air wick deal where you buy $20 and get $10 extra care bucks back. I had downloaded the $5/25 coupon to my card. I love the way you can now download the cvs printable coupons straight to your card so you don't have to print them. I bought 5 of the airwick i motion kits, 1 tube of bengay, and got the newton blueberry cookies that were free with my coupon from the coupon center. I had 5 of the $4/1 air wick coupons from previous inserts and the $5 bengay coupon from yesterday's insert. The $5/$25 coupon also came off. So after all these coupons I got everything for .44 plus tax which made it $2.22. I got the $10 extra care buck's back and $1 extra care buck back from my bag tag.

Spent .17 Tax Saved $33 at Harris Teeter

This week I stocked up on peanut butter at Harris Teeter. The skippy sale with the coupons came just in time our huge stockpile of peanut butter was coming down to the last jar. I got 11 jars for free this week and only paid .17 tax. I had the .75/1 coupons that doubled to $1.50. I got four more coupons in the mail today so I'm going to use those this weekend. I have not cleared the shelves. Each time we've went the shelves have been really well stocked. With the coupons I could get 3 for free and only pay .5 tax on 3. Can't beat free peanut butter especially the way my family eats it all the time.

Spent $1.88 at CVS for 2 14oz bags of Skittles

We had a coupon print out of the red coupon machine for Buy 1 get 1 free 14 oz bag of skittles, lifesavers, or starburst. I had recently printed a coupon online for $1/1 bag of skittles. I used the buy 1 get 1 free store coupon, the $1/1 printable coupon, and a $1 extra care buck and scored 2 bags of skittles for $1.88. I saved $5.88 in this trip. My dad had been wanting some skittles so this deal made him real happy :)

HT E-vic Suprises Spent $3.08 Saved $23.07

Sunday morning I had a very nic suprise in my inbox. I had the alert e-mail for the Sunday only e-vic specials at Harris Teeter. I was excited to see an aditional e-vic e-mail from the fri. one. With my e-vic I could get 2 tombstone pizzas for $3.74 and two Tropicana 59 oz oj for $3.94. To make these deals even more exciting I had coupons for both items. I used 2 $1/1 tombstone coupons and 2 $1/1 tropicana 59oz coupons. I also bought 2 planters peanut butters that were on sale for buy 1 get 1 free. I had two .75/1 coupons for these. Unfortunately they say do not double on them and my store is clamping down very hard on enforcing this. So all together I bought 2 tombstone pizza's, 2 tropicana's, and 2 planter's peanut butters all for $3.08. 21 cents of that was tax. I saved $23.07. I was very happy with this shopping trip. These were all things we eat or drink quite a bit of

Spent .8 Tax Saved $9.76 @ CVS

Sun. morning I heard that the big red coupon machine was printing out multiple free coupons!! I decided I better run to my local store and get my free stuff before they all got gone. I got 2 free caramello candy bars and 2 boxes of cvs fabric bandaids 20ct. for free! I had 2 cards to get 2 of each. I had my card and my parents. I also got my bag tag scan so I'm one more scan closer to the $1 ecb for that. My family actually prefers the fabric bandaids and you can never go wrong with chocolate.

Saved $28.21 This Week Spent .87 Tax

This week I shopped at several different stores. I shopped at CVS, Food Lion, and Harris Teeter.

I got 5 boxes of the Splenda Essentials 80ct. box all for free by using the $3 coupon that was in 7/31 insert. They were on sale for $3 this week at Food Lion. I believe the sale is still on and will be for a while so if you didn't get them you still have a chance to grab them. I also had a coupon for a free Herbal Essence Shampoo. I love coupons for free stuff! Especially when it's for the brand I use!!

I got 3 of the Hershey Air Delight bars free at CVS. My store has been out of these for quite a while. I still saved my coupons for the free ones that printed at the coupon printer a month ago. My store said they would honor them when they got them in. I had 2 store coupons for free ones and I also had 1 printable try me free coupon. The first two I bought I even wasn't charged tax for! Go figure! The cashier even couldn't figure out why. Today I got the last one free and was charged .5 tax.

Food Lion has the Marcal single roll paper towels on sale 5/$5 again this week. With the coupon from last sunday I got one roll free. Only paid .7 tax.

Last but not least I went to Harris Teeter and found the Gillette men's body wash was on sale for $2.99. I had the $2 coupon from sunday's P&G and had loaded the $2 e coupon to my card. So I got it for free and only had to pay .20 tax.

So my grand total this week was saved $28.21 and spent .87.

Daily Quick Cleaning Tips- The Bathroom

Wipe out the sink (30 seconds) If you wipe/rinse out the sink after each time you brush your teeth etc. it will stay looking nicer longer. The toothpaste stains tend to build up quickly if you don't keep it rinsed out.

Clean splatters of the mirror (15 seconds) It's easier also to get these splatters off when they happen rathar than waiting til they dry. It's suggested that you can also use the same rag to wipe off the mirror that you use on the sink.

Wipe the toilet seat and rim (15 seconds)

Swoosh the toilet bowl with a brush (15 seconds) If yo see a ring beginning to form inside the toilet give it a quick scrub with the brush.

Wipe down the shower door if you have one (30 seconds) Wipe down glass doors to prevent spotting.

Spray shower and curtain liner with shower mist (15 seconds) This will reduce mildew and soapscum buildup.

Daily, Quick, & Simple Cleaning Tips

Realsimple.com has a great quick, daily cleaning checklist. It's very simple stuff, that you can do daily to keep each room of your house looking neat. If we keep each room of the house clean daily it wouldn't be as bad when you do the weekly (or how ever often you may do it) major cleaning. Alot of this stuff you may already do daily but I thought the checklist was to good not to share. Today we'll start with the kitchen. If you do everything on this list for the kitchen it will only take less than 10 min. That's not bad to keep your kitchen looking nice. I'll share the checklist for the other parts of the house over the next several days.

KITCHEN

-Clear out and wipe down the sink. (5 minutes)

It doesn't take that long to wash a few dishes, if you wash them every day or to pop the dishes in the dishwasher. If you wipe down the sink every time you get food in it or take the dishes out it wouldn't get that dirty.

-Wipe down countertops and stove. (1 minute)

-Wipe problem spots on the floor. (2 minutes)

If you leave the sticky, dirty spots on the floor, they will attract dirt and become more noticeable.

-Fold or hang dishtowels. (30 seconds) Even if they're clean a pile of dishtowels can still look messy.

2 packs of Huggies for $3.13 including tax!

I went back to CVS today hoping they would still have the clearance huggies. Sunday when I was there they only had 2 packs left. Today I went and bought the last 2 packs of clearance diapers. They were Huggies Pure & Natural Newborn. I got both packs for $3.13 including tax. They were signed 50% but they rang up cheaper than that, I think! Love it when that happens. I used 2 of the $1.50 coupons that were in the paper last sunday. The diapers rang up $2.87 each before the coupons. My receipt says I saved $20.24. Diapers are outrageous if you pay full price for them.

How To Load Coupons To Your Food Lion Card And Use With A Paper Coupon

Did you know there are paperless coupons that you can load to your Food Lion (MVP) card? The coupons come off your card automatically when you have your card scanned at checkout. You can also use paper/manufactor coupons with the coupon loaded on your card. So you can really use 2 coupons on 1 item.

Food Lion

Go to:
http://http://www.foodlion.com/Savings/Coupons

Create a account. It's not complicated. Scroll through the coupons, click on the square that says "card". This will save them to your card. I think these coupons you load to your card can only be used once. This makes for some sweet deals when you combine these with paper coupons plus a good sale.

Spent $1.33 (including tax) at CVS Saved $10.98

I haven't been couponing as much as I would like to lately because I haven't had the money to buy stuff we don't need. But you can't turn down free and unbeatable deals.

Today at CVS some select cardholders got a coupon when they scanned their card at the coupon machine for a .99 12pck of Pepsi or Diet Pepsi. I was skeptical last night when I read about this and even after I got the e-mail from CVS I still wondered. Well I went in today and scanned my card and I got the coupon. So I got a 12 pck of Pepsi for only .99.

I also got some free stuff while I was there. I had a raincheck from when the 3pck. Ivory soap was on sale for .99 I had 2 $1/1 coupons so I got both for free. I also used the $1/1 crystal light coupons that were in the paper this past sun. and got 6 individual packets for free. These are 2/$1 and since the coupon was for $1 one coupon covered 2.

I've got more deals planned for tomorrow so it will be neat to see at the end of the week total how much I've spent and saved.

Yes, I was one of the crazies out this morning waiting at the door when my Harris Teeter opened. Well that's it for trip #1. We would love to hear about your HT bargins this week. Leave them below in the comment section

Spent .59 saved $4.34

This morning I got up and out early and went to Food Lion an Harris Teeter . I was after one quick item from each store. First at Food Lion I bought one 16 oz. jar of Vlasic sweet relish it's regularly $1.59 but this week is on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free. There was also a red coupon machine there that gave me a coupon for .75/1 vlasic item. I bought one jar of relish and used (1) .75 coupon and got one jar of relish for .6 that's including tax!

Harris Teeter has their Nestle Toll House cookie dough on sale this week 2/$4. It's the 24 pack of premade cookies. I had a .75 coupon for any Nestle Toll House cookie dough and with the coupon doubling at Harris Teeter I got one pack of the Oatmeal Rasin cookies for .53 including tax.

So put these two trips together and I only spent .59 this morning and I saved $4.34!

Haved a blesseed Easter.

Paid .31 tax Saved $4.75 at Food Lion

In yesterday's paper was the $1/1 Marcal coupon. I've learned to clip this coupon every time I find it. Food Lion runs the single roll paper towels on sale for $1. I went to Food Lion today to do some price checking. I checked the paper towels and sure enough the single rolls were on sale for $1. I got 4 rolls used four $1/1 coupons and spent only .31 tax and saved $4.75. The manager saw me checkout again and asked me was he going to have to watch me again like last time. I told him he should because I was going to do the same thing I did last time (get everything for free.) He just shook his head in amazement when he saw my total. This past week I've gotten several free things at Food Lion by just scanning my MVP card at the blue coupon machine as you enter the store. The coupons say free gift and you only have to pay tax on the items. I got a box of Velvetta macaroni and cheese shells and a free 2 liter coke product. It always pays to scan your mvp card just to see if you will get a "free gift" or possibly a coupon for something that's already on your shopping list that day.

The Coupon You Must Clip From The Paper This Weekend

The coupon you must clip from the paper this weekend is the $1/1 bestlife buttery spread product. You can use it this week at Food Lion. 15 oz tubs of bestlife buttery spread are on sale 5/$5. This makes them $1 each. This buttery spread is healthier than regular butter and my family has been eating it for months and can't taste the difference. The date on those I bought this week was nov. 2011 so you can stock up and have plenty of time to use it before it goes bad. At Food Lion there is no limit on how many identical coupons you can use per transaction. Don't forget if they're out of it, get a raincheck.

Food Lion Literally Paid Me .70 For 5 Tubs of Butter And 2 1lb. Boxes of Sphagetti

I got so excited Tues. night when looking at the Food Lion ad I saw where Bestlife Buttery spread 15 oz tubs were going to be on sale 5/$5. I had taken advantage of this sale last time and scored lots of free butter with my coupons. So since then I made sure I clipped all the coupons I saw for it. Wed. I went to Food Lion and bought 5 tubs of BestLife Buttery Spread at 5/$5 and had 5 $1/1 coupons which made them all free. I also had 2 $1/1 coupons for ronzoni pasta. Ronzoni sphagetti 1lb. boxes are on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free. Regualr retail was $1.19, At Food Lion you are allowed to use 2 coupons on BOGO sales. I used 2 coupons. I ended up paying no tax on the entire order. I can't believe the cashier handed me .70 back. She is one of the lead cashers so it's not like she didn't know what she was doing. The manager who knows me personally and is a great guy was standing in line behind me. He was shocked that I got 5 tubs of butter and two boxes of pasta totally free. He said he was actually impressed. Bummer was she didn't give me my receipt and it was pouring down rain so I didn't go back in to get it. So I don't know exactly how much I saved but I'm guessing at least $10. Don't forget you don't have to buy 5 even though the sale says 5/$5. You can buy 1 for $1.

Where To Find Upcoming Sales and Printable Coupons

Hey Everyone

This post may be random but I'm going to share some couponing tips and websites to find coupons and upcoming sales.

All 3 of the local drugstores in our area have websites where you can go and view the upcoming sales ads. This is a great way to see if the items you're going to be needing are going on sale anytime soon and where the best place to buy them is. Also I enjoy looking at the ads to see what coupons I need to find for the upcoming sales.

Rite Aid: www.iheartriteaid.com

Walgreens: www.iheartwags.com

CVS: www.iheartcvs.com

Angie asked the question in the recent Q&A contest, Where do I find high value coupons online. There are many coupon sites online where you can print coupons. The sites I recommend are coupons.com, smartsource.com, and redplum.com Keep in mind the smart source and redplum sites have a lot of the same coupons that are in their inserts in the paper.

Coupons.com resets their coupons every month, some coupons don't last a whole month on there. You can only print most printable coupons twice per computer. I do know that if the same coupon is on the site again the next month you may print it two more times.

Spent $3.44 Saved $54 At Harris Teeter Super Doubles

My Harris Teeter trip today was much more positive than yesterday's trip. Yesterday they decided they were going to analyze my coupons to make sure I got the exact thing that was listed on the coupon. Not to mention the same cashier took the same coupons the day before for the same items without a problem. Oh well, on to today's successful trip.

Today I bought:

3 Activia yogurt on sale $2 each

used 3 $1/1 coupons doubled= free

2 bags purina cat food

used 2 $1/1 coupons
these were on sale Buy 1 get 1 free, I bought these in 2 separate transactions so they would each ring up half price, then my $1 coupons doubled making them .72 each!

5 pouches of purina cat treats

used 5 $1/1 coupons doubled= free

5 edward's singles 2 pack pies sale $2 each

used 5 $1/1 coupons doubled= free

6 tony's pizza's used 3 1off 2 coupon doubled= $1 for 6

I did not get all this in one transaction. Since you can only use 3 like coupons per order I went through the checkout twice.

I spent only $3.44 on all this and saved $54!!

How Does Super Double Coupons Work?

I thought I would go ahead and answer this question prompt since Harris Teeter is starting super double coupons Wed.

How does Super Double coupons work? Which coupons are the best to use?

Harris Teeter will only double 20 coupons per day per household. Only 3 identical coupons can be used in 1 transaction. During the super double events Harris Teeter will double any coupon with $1.98 face value or under. For ex. $1.50 coupon will double to $3. They will double any coupon under $1 every day, so for the super double event you need to focus on the coupons that are $1-$1.50. This can score you tons of free stuff.

A Fresh Start

After a while we all get tired of the same thing, whether it's the same clothes, same food, same clutter. We just want to throw out and bring in the new. Well, that's about how I'm feeling about the blog. I love the blog and the concept of the blog but I've been slack. I think you guys want more from this than to just only hear about all the free stuff I get. I want to give you more than that too. I want this blog to keep you coming back daily for more and to invite your friends to come join. I hope to bring more frugal living post to the blog and other fun post not totally related to coupon deals.

I follow several of the bigger coupon/savings sites and I would love to see our blog become 1/2 of what these sites are. I realize I have to do my part on blogging but will you do your part of coming back and giving us feedback and comments to make the blog more exciting?

An Opportunity to Bless Someone

We take so much for granted and need to slow down and think of how we can bless those who are going through difficult times. I have a friend, Rachel, who had a 13oz micro preemie who lived in the NICU the first four months of her life before going home to be with Jesus. Rachel has started a yearly preemie onesie drive in her daughter's memory. She collects, preemie onesies, outfits and clothes up to 3 months and gives them to the neonatal nursery where her daughter lived her four months. Rachel also collects, receiving blankets and socks for the babies. The neonatal nursery cares for up to around 100 babies.

Rachel, shares on her blog (www.preemieclothingdrive.com) how the journey isn't easy with your child in the NICU. She was given an annonymous onesie when her daughter was in there, and Rachel was greatly blessed by this act of kindness from a complete stranger.

The delivery date for these items to the NICU is March 9th. We really need to collect these things asap so I can get them to Rachel.

If you would rathar give a monatary gift I would see that it was used to buy onesies etc. for the drive.

I'm excited to see what our small blog can do to bless these tiny babies and their families.

Please leave us a comment in the comment section and let us know if you're willing to help. If we don't have your contact info please leave us your e-mail address.

Thanks so much in advance!

Saved $127 Spent $14.85 So Far In 2011

We're only into the 14th day of the year and I've already saved $127. this year and spent $14.85.

I've been back to Food Lion and bought 2 more of the spaghetti for $1. I found 2 more of the $1 coupons. I also bought 2 more of the Healthy Choice soups, some bananas, and 2 more containers of the bestlife butter spread. I had coupons, of course, for everything except the bananas. Not sure how this happened but I paid only for the bananas. The soups should have cost $1. I only paid $1.30 and the bananas were $1.16 plus .14 tax. I'm not complaining at all!!

I got 2 of the pure protein bars, 1 of the Johnson and Johnson baby bars of soap, and 4 boxes of the fiber one honey clusters cereal. I paid 4.26 for all of this and .26 was tax. The only thing I really paid for was $1 a box for the cereal.

Spent $5.33 Saved $54.30

I'm so excited about my shopping trip today. Even though I always save more then I spend I believe this could be the most I've ever saved in one trip. Today I went to Harris Teeter, Dollar General, and Food Lion.

At Harris Teeter with the Super Double Coupons I was able to get a lot of free stuff:

2 large 7th Generation Dish Liquids
2 small bottles of Bayer Asprin
3 8 oz tubes of toothpaste
2 boxes of spaghetti

I also got a bottle of V8 Fusion Light, 3 boxes of Finish dish detergent, and 1 jar of smuckers jelly, I had to pay for these items but not much. The jelly was .79, the v8 was .50, and the finish was .49. I was very pleased with how well I did.

Food Lion also has some really great deals I told you about yesterday. I bought 3 small tubs of Best Life Buttery spread, and 2 boxes of spaghetti and got this all for free. I also bought 2 healthy choice cans of soup also on sale for $1 and used $1/2 coupon and got both for $1.

At Dollar General I got 1 olay body wash which was on sale for $2 and used the coupon from dec. P&G insert and got it for free. Overall it was an awesome trip, can't wait to go do it again!

Food Lion Freebies and Great Deals That You Can Grab This Week.

I'm normally not a huge couponer at Food Lion because they don't double coupons but this week will be different. I will be couponing there this week. BestLife Buttery Spread is on sale there this week for $1. There was a $1 coupon in Jan.2nd newspaper. I'm also going to grab some of the Healthy Choice soups. They're also $1 this week and $1/2 coupon was also in this past sunday's paper. .50 a piece for Healthy Choice soup is not a bad deal at all.
