Spent $4.30 Saved $55.36 @ Harris Teeter Super Doubles

I know it's been way to long since I've blogged. I haven't been couponing as much as I was. I've been busy busy working 2 jobs and preparing to go to Kenya in less than 65 days! Yesterday and today I had to great trips to Harris Teeter. I'm not going to blog about yesterday's right now because I don't have the receipt in front of me lol. This morning there were people in line waiting on the store to open when I arrived about 5 til. I love it when the purina cat food is on sale the same time as super doubles especially when there are good coupons out for it. I bought: 4 3lb bags of purina cat chow 1 febreeze air effects spray 1 crest toothpaste 1 bag of oral b floss picks 2 bags of newtons fruit crisp cookies 2 bottles of pantene shampoo 1 digorono pizzeria pizza I only spent $4.30 total and $1.25 of that was tax. I had zvr coupons to go with several items such as the febreeze, oral b picks, crest, as well as the pantene. Going back after work to use a few more coupons.

Spent $2.18 Saved $20.94 @ HT

I love it, like we all do when I have zvr coupons that match manuf. coupons I have. I  try to find manuf. coupons to match zvr's because I'm always about paying the least out of pocket. Yesterday I knew I would have overage so I ended up getting some things that were on sale and I had coupons for but no zvr's.

I bought

1 can of wolf chilli with beans
2 bags of green giant tortilla chips on sale bogo
1 box of keebler pretzel bites
1 box of weight watcher's carrot cake snacks
1 box of van's whole grain waffles
1 container of smart balance butter

I had a zvr for everything but the weight watchers and the waffles but these were both on sale bogo and I had coupons for both.

So I'm thinking I got everything for free except the waffles and the weight watchers and only paid about .99 each for them.

So including tax I paid $2.18 and saved $20.94 yesterday at Harris Teeter.

Spent .77 Saved $54 @ CVS

This week I hit the jackpot at CVS. I haven't been going to cvs quite as much as usual. I haven't gotten many ecb's in a while other than the one I get for the gree bag tag. Well this week that all changed. My first trip in this week I purchased 2 of the crest pro health that were on sale 2/$5 with the $2 ecb back. This tootpaste works really well for me and I'm not about to pay the regular high price. I also picked up a box of the nature made b complex 60 ct energy vitamin. It's regularly $10.49 at my store and not included in the nature made that was on sale this week. I had a $10 coupon for this. The beauty was that I was unaware of til the cashier scanned the coupon was that the coupon took off $15 for some odd reason instead of $10. The cashier was obviously surprised as well. This was a cashier who is a shift manager and has worked at this store forever. She didn't adjust it down or anything. I also had 2 .75 coupons for the toothpaste so all together I paid .4 tax and saved $19.08 and got back $2 ecb's for the crest. Day #1 of being paid to shop.

Yesterday I went back to cvs and had a $5/$15 loaded to my card. Of course they were out of the scott that was on sale that I had planned on buying. So on to plan b which was limited because I didn't have all my coupons with me. I purchased 2 1ct. venus razors that were on sale for$7.39 with a $4 ecb back for 1. I also had a coupon from the coupon center for $2/2 toothpaste as well as 2 .50/1 coupons for colgate. They had colgate with mini breath strips on clearance for .97. I had a buy 1 get 1 free coupon for gillette disposable razors. That coupon took off the max. value of $11.99. So that put me in the negative so I ran and grabbed 3 more of the clearance toothpaste. So tax was .99 but my negative still ate some of that so I only owed .73 tax for 5 crest and 2 venus razors. If that's not good enough I got back $4 ecb's for the razor.

So between both days I spent .77 and saved $54 and got back $6 ecb's.

CVS Deal Of The Day- $2/1 Campbell's

These chilly days we all know how nice a warm bowl of soup taste. Well today you can get a coupon for 2/$1 campbell's soup 10.5-11.5oz.  Every day ( I think) over at CVS's website they have a deal of the day. A cvs coupon available to print that day only with a special savings only good with that coupon. The soup is currently on sale for .99 but for you if you print the coupon you can get 2 cans for .50 each. Manufactur coupons can be used with these deals but in this case it's a better deal not to use additional coupons. You must print the coupon today but tomorrow is the last day you can use it.

$1/1 Wheat Thin Printable

I just found an awesome printable coupon for wheat thins. I don't know about you but I love me some wheat thins. Although I'm not going to pay the higher prices they normally cost. Head on over to: http://musthavewheatthins.com/ and click on the the get coupon button on the left hand side of the screen to print your coupon for $1/1 box of wheat thin cracker 5.5oz or larger. Now wait on a sale. I'm pretty sure grocery stores have them buy 1 get 1 free at times. Don't forget if you buy 2 during one of those sales you still may use 2 coupons at Harris Teeter or Food Lion. Dollar General also accepts coupons so you might want to check there as well. Also you could save it til Harris Teeter does super doubles again (next month) and use it then to get $2 off. Wouldn't it be sweet if they were also on sale for buy 1 get 1 free then.

So head over to get your coupon now :)))

Old Navy Bargin @ A Consignment Shop

It's been a very long time since I've done of of these post but it's about  a deal I got without using a coupon!! I went to one of my local consignment shops last week to browse. I'm already on the lookout for skirts and tops to take on my mission trip this summer. I've said from the beginning I know this trip is going to cost a lot but I'm going to coupon/bargin shop as much as I can. Well my find last wed. even wasn't clothes. It was a bookbag. A bookbag that I plan to carry as my personal item on the plane. It's a nice Old Navy bookbag that has a deep main pocket as well as 2 other pockets on the outside. It also has a small pocket on the inside. Lots of room for all my stuff. It also has nice padded straps. Ok, what kind of price would you say for the consigment shop? Was priced $8. I really hated to pay that for it even though I knew it was a great price. I probably would have paid it anyway. I noticed that someone had taken the scissors to one of the straps. So I asked the owner if she would take any less because of the cut strap. She said she even hadn't noticed and she would knock some off. I was thinking she might take off $1. Well she took off half. Making the bag $4. Well needless to say once she said $4 I knew I was getting the bookbag. My mom's already sewed up the strap and it's good as new.

This proves that you can find some name brand nice stuff at consignment stores. This time of year is really a good time to check them out. They're running specials trying to get rid of winter stuff to make room for spring. One of the other consignment shops in my area is doing away with children's toys and baby gear such as bouncies, etc. So they're all half price. As long as it's in good shape and clean who says it has to be new??

Are you a consignment shop junkie? Or are they not your cup of tea? If you are I would love to hear about your finds in the comment section below. If you don't "do" consignment shops I would love to hear from you too.

Spent .71 Saved $6 @ Harris Teeter

This week I found a coupon from coupons.com for $3 off south beach diet products. The coupon listed several different items such as smoothies and snack bars. Harris Teeter sales the boxes of snack bars for $3.29. Needless to say I went "wild" with this coupon. You can't beat .29 for a box of snack bars, and I think they're actually pretty good.  I found 2 diffent links for the coupon so that allowed me to print a total of 4 from my one printer. I also had some friends to print me some as well. If in case you're wondering no I haven't cleared any shelves. I paid .58 before tax for 2 boxes. After you add the .11 tax it comes out to .71 for 2 boxes of south beach diet snack bars. Woohoo!!

What Good Deals Can U Get This Week.

I know I go on and on about my coupon savings but you want to know how you can get the deals.

Do you still have the coupons that came in yesterday's paper? Stop, don't throw them out!! Actually if you don't get the newspaper you can go to redplum.com or smartsource.com and print out what are I believe the same coupons. The coupon you need to look for is .50/1 bird's eye steamfresh chef's favorite. These are on sale this week at Harris Teeter for buy 1 get 1 free. You can get them for .24 a bag after you use the coupon and it doubled. Everyone that buys frozen veggies knows you can't beat that.

Also have you checked out pillsbury.com for coupons? Great site for printables. I found .85/1 coupons for cereal on there. Keep in mind .85 coupons will double. The Fiber One is on sale at H. Teeter this week for 2/$5. After 2 .85/1 coupons doubled and  a .75/1 coupon loaded to my card I paid .85 for 2 boxes. That's what you would have paid doing it like I listed. Actually I didn't pay that much because I bought other stuff and used a $3 off next order coupon. Also the cheerios are on sale for the same price. I had a .85 coupon for the peanutbutter multigrain cheerios and had a .75 coupon for those as well on my card. Well of course everyone in my town my had coupons too because those were wiped out. No worries, I did get a rain check for them. After coupons thse will be .5.

Find your coupons and hurry out and get these deals. Don't forget the sale changes at Harris Teeter on Wed. If they're out get a raincheck. Remember rainchecks at Harris Teeter never expire.

Spent $0 Saved $18.73

Yesterday I got a real surprise when I went to CVS. I picked up four packs of the stayfree pads that were on sale buy 1 get 1 free. I also grabbed 1 of the good n natural bars that were on sale for .99. Of course I had coupons for everything. I had 2 buy 1 get 1 free coupons for the pads and a free coupon for the bar. All coupons came out in 1/6 inserts. The pads were only $4.19 but to my advantage the register automatically took off the max value which was $4.49. So therefore between the 2 coupons it ate up my tax. My balance came out to .-1. I had a coupon friendly cashier who is always excited to see my deals. I wasn't prepared for an overage so I hadn't gotten anything else to cover it. Sometimes I will have coupons for whatever I get to cover overage. The cashier played around with it for a min. and reduced the .-1. I didn't ask her to do this and told her I didn't want her to get in trouble. She said she wouldn't. Can't believe I saved $18.73 and didn't even pay one penny!!!

I've got more stayfree coupons on the way. When I go back with them I will be prepared for overage and have other items and coupons ready to eat it up.

How Did I Spend $10 and Save $70 @ Harris Teeter

I know many of you wonder how in the world people like me do it. Spend so little and save so much. It's not really as hard as you think.

I'm going to try and break down for you what I got and coupon amounts used to try and help you see how it's done.

I bought:

1 3pack of id gum-used $1.50/1 internet printable which made it free after doubling
4 2 packs of Rightguard soap on clearance for $1.69, had $2/4 coupon that doubled (I think that was coupon value)
6 3lb bags of purina cat chow ( had raincheck for buy 1 get 1 free. 3 deals was the limit on the raincheck, which means I could get 6 bags. I used 2 $1.50 coupons, and 4 $1/1 coupons. All coupons doubled. $5.59 was the reg. price for one bag.
2 3packs of ivory soap. $1.75 each. Used 1 $1/2 coupon from 12/30 p&g and $1/2 zvr
4 hormel compleats microwavable dinners. On sale for $1.97 had $1/1 coupons, making them free after doubling.
6 classico pasta sauces. Used $1/2 coupons which doubled making them .49 a jar
2 boxes of south beach cereal bars. Reg. $3.29 and box, I had $2 coupons which doubled making them free
1 bottle herbal essence shampoo on clearance for $2.50. Used $1/1 coupon from 12/30 p&g and $1 zvr herbal essence gave me .50 overage

My total bill was $10.03 and $1.65 of that was tax. I saved $70.02 I forgot to mention I got back a $3 coupon off my next shopping order for buying the classico sauce. That's another great reason to take advantage of the classico deal. You don't need to buy as many as I did, to get a coupon I think you only need to buy 2-3 to get a $1 or $2 coupon.

I didn't buy any of this stuff just to be buying it. I'm already collecting stuff to take to Kenya this summer so that's where the soap and gum are going. I must admit the only reason I bought the shampoo was for the overage it would apply to the rest of my order since it was free. .49 a jar is a stockup price if you ask me!!

If you went to Harris Teeter this week I would love to hear what you got. Or if you're new and trying to comprehend all this just leave me a comment.

Happy New Year!!! Super Doubles Are Here :) Where To Find The Coupons At For The Freebies

Happy New Year!!!

A wonderful way to start the New Year Harris Teeter is starting another week long Super Double coupon event starting tomorrow Jan. 2nd that will run through Jan.8. Once again this time the coupons $2 and under will double. With the normal exclusions of those coupons that begin with 9 or say do not double.

Don't forget about printable coupons if you have access to a printer. I know people who don't do the printable coupons but it's really worth it if you can. Where as you can double 3 like manuf. coupons per transaction you can only use 2 identical internet coupons per transaction. You can use as many internet coupons as you like up to the 20 a day limit. You just can't use more than 2 identical ones.

2 coupons that you need to go grab right now for freebies would both be on coupons.com . There is a $2 coupon on any southbeach diet product. This coupon will double to $4 and will make the box of 5 pack bars free. Also there is a $1.50 coupon for a 3 pack of stride id gum. After doubling you will get a 3 pack of gum for free. It's currently on sale through next week for $3. The kids always want gum or you could always donate it.

There was a coupon in the p&g insert that came out 12/30 for $1/1 herbal essence item. My Harris Teeter has some of the herbal essence on clearance for $2.50. Check your e coupons or zvr's. I also had a $1 e coupon for herbal essence. This would give me .50 overage that would apply to the rest of my order. There were many p&g coupons added to the e coupons this week so if you haven't checked yours lately now would be a good time to check yours.

Talk to you soon.

HT Spent $3.18 Saved $19.59

I was so happy to see an e-vic from the Friday e-mail that I could take advantage of. The past few weeks HT hasn't had anything that I could use. I went yesterday and grabbed the Kellogg's cereal promotion where you bought 4 and got $1 off each box. In cases like this I always first look to see which cereals are already on sale and then look for coupons for these. The Value Size Rasin Bran was on sale 2/$4.15. The Kellogg's Crunchy Nut were also on sale for $2.50 each. I got two boxes of each and the register took off $4 for the promotion. I had an $1/2 coupon for the Rasin Bran and (2) .70/1 coupons for the Crunchy Nut. I also picked up 3 boxes of the Green Giant frozen veggies that were also on my e-vic for .97 each. I had a .60/3 coupon for these. After coupons doubling and all discounts I walked away paying only $3.18 for everything and saving $19.59.
